Members of the late W. A. Scott III family are joined by Alex Gross, a Holocaust survivor at a recent W. A. Scott III Memorial lecture on survivors of the Holocaust at the Auburn Ave. Research Library. Asa Gordon of the Douglass Inst., Washington, D.C.. lectured on the " Holocaust: The Encounter of African-American Liberators and Jewish Survivors at Buchenwald," proving with documents that W.A. Scott III(a member of the Black 183rd Engineer Combat Battalion), was a liberator of the Buchenwald Death Camp in 1945, along with his best friend, Sgt. Leon Bass.
